About us

Our mission

To provide a wide array of services and products to mitigate the impact that contaminants have on people’s health and machine durability.

Since 1978, Filtre Saglac has been developing and sharing its expert know-how in filtration and lubrication with a multitude of commercial and industrial companies. Our customers work mainly in the construction, big industry, forestry, agriculture, municipality and mining sectors.

1978

Filtre Saglac opened its doors in 1978, known then as Centre du Filtre Saglac. At the time, the company belonged to Fernand Boudreault and operated out of a building attached to Garage Fernand Boudreault.

1981

A few year later, in 1981, André Lalancette joined the company after having left his job as a grocery store manager. After working there for a few months, he decided to start his own business and bought Boudreault's company.

1984

In 1984, the company changed its name to Filtre Saglac Inc. and moved into to a new 3,000 square-foot building at 252 Joseph-Gagné. Year after year, the business grew, quickly becoming a leader in filtration solutions for local businesses.

1995

In May 1995, André Lalancette died in a car accident and his wife, Solange Bérubé, took over running the business. Solange had been keeping the company's books since 1984.

1996

In 1996, the company expanded its space, adding another 1,800 square feet to support its growth. In 1997, Karen and Serge Lalancette joined the existing team to take over for their mother. Sandra Lalancette joined Karen and Serge in 1999, when the company acquired Autotech Systèmes Enr., a company that distributed BG products in the Mauricie, Bois-Francs, and Beauce regions of Quebec and Bas St-Laurent. Gradually, the younger generation would learn the ropes to eventually take over the company, which became official when Solange Bérubé retired in 2001. Serge Lalancette, Karen Lalancette, Sandra Lalancette and Guy Perron took over the company.

2005

In 2005, to accommodate the growth of both Filtre Saglac and Autotech Systèmes, the company had to build a 6,000 square foot space at 460 Joseph-Gagné. The company moved there in January 2006.

2012

In 2012, Filtre Saglac sold its BG product distribution line to focus its efforts on fluid filtration and purification solutions for light and heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.
